Dear Mr Cheng Kai Chu
Mr Ridwan Bin Abdul Rahim has sent you a new Portal notice with the subject 'Welcome to Term 2 2026-27'
------------------------------
Dear Parents and Members of the NPSI Community,
A very warm welcome to the start of the new academic year at NPS International School.
Whether you are returning to our community or joining us for the first time, I would like to extend my very best wishes for the year ahead. I hope you and your families have enjoyed a restful and enjoyable break, and I know that our staff are looking forward to working in partnership with you to ensure another successful year for every child.
Our regular school newsletter will resume next week. However, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back and to share our outstanding 2026 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) results, which many of you may already have seen on our social media channels earlier this month.
We are delighted to recognise the outstanding achievements of our 2026 IB Diploma graduates. This year, our students achieved an exceptional average Diploma score of 38.2 (Singapore average 35.67; Global average 30.88) points, placing NPS International School significantly above both the global IB average and the Singapore average. These outstanding results continue our tradition of academic excellence and reflect the dedication, resilience and ambition of our students.
Among this year's highlights:
- Five students achieved the maximum possible score of 45 points, an exceptional accomplishment attained by only a very small percentage of IB students worldwide.
- Forty-seven students (46% of the cohort) achieved 40 points or more, demonstrating the remarkable depth of achievement across the graduating class.
- A further 35 students achieved between 35 and 39 points, meaning that more than three-quarters (78%) of our Diploma candidates attained 35 points or above, an outstanding achievement by international standards.
As we begin a new academic year, it is fitting to recognise these exceptional achievements. They are the culmination of many years of learning, commitment and partnership, reflecting not only the hard work of our graduating students, but also the collective efforts of our families and staff who have supported them throughout their educational journey. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our parents for the trust, encouragement and unwavering support you provide throughout your children's education. Your partnership with the school is fundamental to our students' success.
I would also like to acknowledge the extraordinary commitment of our staff. These results have been built over many years, beginning with the strong foundations established by our Primary teachers and continuing through every stage of Secondary education. Every teacher has played a role in developing the knowledge, skills, character and confidence that have enabled our students to achieve such outstanding outcomes.
My sincere thanks go to Dr Kris Bhatt, Senior Principal, for his inspirational leadership, vision and unwavering commitment to academic excellence, and to Ms Sushmita Chatterjee, Deputy Principal (Academic), for her outstanding leadership of our academic programmes. I also wish to recognise the invaluable contributions of our Secondary Leadership Team, our IB Coordinators, our IB Core Leads, our IB teachers, and every member of our teaching staff whose expertise, dedication and belief in our students have made these results possible.
Above all, we congratulate our graduates. The IB Diploma Programme is internationally recognised as one of the world's most academically rigorous pre-university qualifications. To achieve results of this calibre requires sustained commitment, resilience and intellectual curiosity. Our students should be immensely proud of what they have accomplished, and we look forward to following their journeys as they take up places at leading universities around the world.
These results reinforce our commitment to providing an education that combines academic excellence with the development of all-roundedness, character and global citizenship. As we begin a new academic year, we look forward to building on this success and continuing to provide every student with the very best opportunities to learn, grow and thrive.
Thank you for your continued confidence in NPS International School. I wish all of our students and families a happy, successful and fulfilling year ahead.
Kind regards,
Mr. Andrew Wyeth
